Community Garden Sign-up 2021

Sustainable Morehead Community Gardens Sign Up

Spring planting is just around the corner and it is time to think about spring and summer gardening.  For those who are short on garden space, signing up for a community garden plot is a great way to grow your own fresh vegetables, meet new people, and enjoy exercise and time outdoors during the coming months.

Gardeners are invited to attend a sign-up meeting and reserve a garden plot Sunday, March 28 at 4:00 p.m. at the shelter beyond the city park tennis courts. Information on each of the garden sites will be provided. The fee for a garden plot is $10 membership fee for Sustainable Morehead and $10 for each plot.   Reduced cost is available for low-income households.  For more information on the Community Garden project and other Sustainable Morehead activities go to http://sustainablemorehead.blogspot.com or call 606-356-4328.

Time to sign up for your Community Garden plot. We have two community gardens. Perkins Garden is located across from the Splash Pad and down the street from the Recycling Center. Jewel Lane Garden is in the neighborhood behind Tractor Supply on Jewel Lane. We will have two meetings so that you will have two opportunities to sign up for a plot. Please come to one of these two meetings to learn more about our community gardens.
Meeting 1 - Saturday morning ( 3/21) @ 10am @ the Methodist Church.
Meeting 2 - Tuesday evening (3/24) @ 5pm @ the First Baptist Church
