Next Sustainable Morehead Business Meeting will be 5/19

Sustainable Morehead will now hold its business meetings every other month.  Therefore, there will be no meeting in April.  Join us for the next Sustainable Morehead business meeting on Tuesday, May 19th, 7pm in Fellowship Hall at Morehead United Methodist Church.

Time to dust off your bikes - Fourth Sunday bike rides are back 4/26!

The weather is warmer and its time to get back into bicycling!  Join us for the first bike ride of the season on Sunday, April 26th at 2pm.  We'll meet in Morehead United Methodist Church parking lot for an interesting ride in the Morehead area.  We hope to see you there!

Second Sunday Hike will be on 4/19

Due to the Cave Run Symphony Orchestra concert, our usual second Sunday Hike will take place on the third Sunday in April, the 19th.

Meet at the Shallow Flats parking lot, Sunday April 19, 2:00 PM. We'll hike the Lakeview Trail. Bring your cameras and binoculars for some great looks at Cave Run Lake before the trees leaf out.

Morehead Community Earth Day Festival 4/22

The Morehead State University Sustainability Committee has organized a Morehead Community Earth Day Festival that will take place on Earth Day, April 22, 2015 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at Don Greenhill City Park in Morehead, rain or shine. The festival will include information booths, educational activities, live music from Kentucky Traditional Music Center, local food, retail, and craft vendors, Morehead Community Recycling Center tours, MSU plant seedling sales and more. Sheltowee Trace Association 1st Saturday Hike April 4th


The Sheltowee Trace Association invites you to join them for the First Saturday Hike on April 4th along the Auxier Ridge trail in the Red River Gorge. This is a five mile loop hike along some of the most stunning vistas in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

This FREE event is open to everyone, members and future members, and dogs are permitted as long as they remain on a leash.  Register Now!

Participants are asked to meet at the trail head at 10:30. To get to the trail head you exit off the Combs Mountain Parkway at the Natural Bridge exit and turn left away from Natural Bridge. At stop sign, turn right towards Subway at the stop sign onto highway 15. Follow 15 back across the Parkway, up the hill then turn left at Tunnel Ridge into the Gorge. Go to the end of the road, follow signs to Auxier Ridge trail head.  Please plan for the weather. Dress according to the temps and predicted weather. Bring a snack, drinks etc as all hikes will cover about 5 miles and take 3 to 4 hours to complete.
