Morehead Community Earth Day Festival 4/22
The Morehead State University Sustainability Committee has organized a Morehead Community Earth Day Festival that will take place on Earth Day, April 22, 2015 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at Don Greenhill City Park in Morehead, rain or shine. The festival will include information booths, educational activities, live music from Kentucky Traditional Music Center, local food, retail, and craft vendors, Morehead Community Recycling Center tours, MSU plant seedling sales and more. Sheltowee Trace Association 1st Saturday Hike April 4th
The Sheltowee Trace Association invites you to join them for the First Saturday Hike on April 4th along the Auxier Ridge trail in the Red River Gorge. This is a five mile loop hike along some of the most stunning vistas in the Daniel Boone National Forest.
This FREE event is open to everyone, members and future members, and dogs are permitted as long as they remain on a leash. Register Now!
Participants are asked to meet at the trail head at 10:30. To get to the trail head you exit off the Combs Mountain Parkway at the Natural Bridge exit and turn left away from Natural Bridge. At stop sign, turn right towards Subway at the stop sign onto highway 15. Follow 15 back across the Parkway, up the hill then turn left at Tunnel Ridge into the Gorge. Go to the end of the road, follow signs to Auxier Ridge trail head. Please plan for the weather. Dress according to the temps and predicted weather. Bring a snack, drinks etc as all hikes will cover about 5 miles and take 3 to 4 hours to complete.

The second Sunday hike on the Lakeview Trail scheduled for this Sunday, 3/8 has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule this hike for April.

Community Garden Sign Ups, Business Meeting March 10th
New gardeners, as well as those who participated last year, are invited to attend a meeting on Tuesday, March 10th at 7 pm in Fellowship Hall at the Morehead United Methodist church. Information on each of the garden sites will be provided, and there will be an opportunity to reserve a garden plot for the upcoming growing season. There is a $20 refundable deposit required to reserve a plot. New and returning gardeners who are unable to attend the meeting on March 10th may sign up for a plot on Sustainable Morehead’s website.
Sustainable Morehead will also hold its business meeting on March 10th. In addition to community gardens, we will also discuss the Earth Day Celebration scheduled for April 22nd.

Second Sunday Hike 3/8
Join us for the next Second Sunday Hike on Sunday March 8th. We'll meet at the Shallow Flats parking lot 2:00 PM for a hike on The Lake View Trail. Bring your cameras for some good views of Cave Run Lake before the trees leaf out. Don't forget to "spring forward" - daylight savings time begins on March 8th!

Second Sunday Hike 2/8
Join us for the next Second Sunday Hike on Sunday, February 8th, which will be led by Molly & Tom Carew. Meet at the Methodist Church parking lot at 1:30 pm. We can carpool to the hiking spot on Paragon Craney Road which is about 15-20 minutes south on 519. It is a relatively easy hike. Depending on the weather, we may do 45-60 minutes out and then back, but it will be the will of the crowd. We will cross a low stream at least 2 times each way. If it rains, the hike will be cancelled. We hope to see you next Sunday!

Sustainable Morehead Business Meeting 1/20
