City of Morehead
c/o Joe Parson
Building Inspector/City Planner
105 East Main Street
Morehead, Kentucky 40351
To Whom it May Concern,
We the undersigned represent two local groups interested in sustainable, healthy transportation: Daniel Boone Rails to Trails and Sustainable Morehead. We have noticed that West Main Street between KY 32 and KY 519 is wide enough to support a dedicated bicycle lane on the north side of the street, and we have noticed in other cities that sometimes dedicated bicycle lanes pass right through places where parking is permitted (as it is on some places along this stretch of West Main Street).
We respectfully request that the City of Morehead create a dedicated bicycle lane in this area to encourage sustainable, healthy transportation in the city and to alert drivers to cyclists in the area. We are willing to help raise funds for this project if necessary.
Thank you for your time and attention. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Scott Davison
