Fourth Sunday Hike May 25th

Sustainable Morehead's sponsored monthly hikes are moving to the 4th Sunday of each month. Our next hike will be Sunday, May 25th at 2pm. Meet at the the Stoney Cove parking lot for an easy hike overlooking Cave Run Lake.

Sustainable Morehead Business Meeting May 20th

The next business meeting of Sustainable Morehead will be Tuesday, May 20th at 7pm in Fellowship Hall at Morehead United Methodist Church.  Issues of safety for pedestrians and bikers on the connector will be discussed, along with updates on the community gardens and the upcoming trail fest. All are invited to attend and get involved.  We hope to see you there!

Second Sunday Bike Ride May 11th

2nd Sunday bicycle rides are back! Meet at the Methodist Church parking lot at 2:00PM on Sunday May 11for a ride around our beautiful city. 2nd Sunday bicycle rides are sponsored by Sustainable Morehead and Daniel Boone Rails to Trails.

Update on Trails in Morehead

An update from Daniel Boone Rails to Trails: You may have heard that activity toward developing a walking/bicycling path in town is really starting to pop. We hope everyone can come to a 5:00 meeting in the Morehead City Hall conference room on May 8th to hear about progress and plans. We are eager to share the positive direction in which we are moving.

KFTC Fundraiser April 26th

Come and enjoy a concert on Saturday April 26th and help to raise money for Kentuckians for the Commonwealth.  The concert begins at 2pm and will continue through 10pm at the Moonlight School Stage in downtown Morehead. 7 bands will play and there will be concessions.  A $5 donation is suggested.

Community Cleanup April 19

There will be a community cleanup on Saturday, April 19th from 9am til Noon
Meet at Memorial Tree Walk trail head Parking lot. Gloves and bags will be provided.

Worm Composting Workshop April 12th

You are invited to a WORMshop at the Living Arts and Science Center on Saturday, April 12, 10:00-11:30 am.

Join Seedleaf volunteer and Master Community Composter Amy Preece in this fun, hands-on introduction to vermiculture --- using worms to process food waste! Learn how to create your own worm compost bin and what to feed and not to feed the worms. Participants will leave with everything they need to start processing kitchen waste in the comfort of their own home… or school! Classroom resources and PD credit are available for teachers!

Location: Living Arts and Science Center, 362 N. Martin Luther King
Audience: All ages (Children under 12 must be accompanied by a registered adult) – Great for science teachers!
Price: $10 ($7 for LASC members)
